Klopp: I am the Normal One

New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed concerns about the club's infamous 'transfer committee', saying that he will have the final say on signings.

New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed concerns about the club's infamous 'transfer committee', saying that he will have the final say on signings.
Much has been made of the club's structure during Brendan Rodger's reign at Anfield and many believed the system would be scrapped with Klopp's arrival.
However, at his unveiling on Friday, Klopp dismissed such concerns and indeed admitted even he needs the help of the others in the committee.
"It's a crazy discussion," he said when quizzed about the furore surrounding the structure. "We talked about it. For me, it's enough. I have the first and the last word. In the middle, we discuss things.
"We only want to talk about very good players. I'm not a genius. I don't know more than the rest of the world."
Klopp was hesitant to label himself after quizzed about Jose Mourinho famously naming himself the "Special One" upon his arrival in England, but did concede that he is the 'Normal One'.
"I am a totally normal guy from the Black Forest - I am the normal one. I was a very average player and then I became a coach at Mainz.
"Then the opportunity came to manage Dortmund, a very special club, and after seven years it was best to leave and now I'm here.

"I hope to enjoy my work because everyone has told me so much about the English press. It's up to you guys to show me it's all lies!"
