Australia Open 2017 : confirm full house of stars

THE 2017 Australian Open is poised to hoist the full house sign with confirmation the sport’s elite will return to Melbourne Park in January.
Grand slam record-holders Roger Federer and Serena Williams and defending champions Angelique Kerber and Novak Djokovic will lead a glittering parade from January 16-29.
Federer, 35, will shoot for a fifth Open title and 18th major overall, while Williams will chase a seventh Melbourne Park trophy and 23rd major.
Federer said he is on schedule in his recovery from knee injury ahead of Monday’s official tournament launch.
“I can’t wait to get back to Australia, and to Melbourne for the Australian Open,” he said.
Novak, who equalled the great Roy Emerson’s feat of winning his sixth Australian Open has his eye on the prize again. His record here is incredible.
“He just always plays so well here and feels as though Melbourne is like a second home.
“Serena has also had a few disappointments this year but she’s an incredible champion and always brings massive excitement and flair to the tournament. She will be back at her best, no doubt.
“And we know Roger Federer will receive a hero’s welcome when he makes his comeback after a year frustrated by injury.
