we have seen so far (in Australia) have been the second-tier performers. The likes of Qewy, Oceanographer, Grey Lion and Exospheric look possible place chances. I’m not convinced they have the quality to win despite the fact they have been able to take out both the Geelong Cup and Lexus Stakes. Wicklow Brave, Heartbreak City and Bondi Beach are the three I am very interested in as winning chances. Heartbreak City and Wicklow Brave arrive here in peak form — both look to have settled in well and have all the qualities you are looking for to run very well. Bondi Beach just smells like a Lloyd Williams-Aidan O’Brien project horse that has had one target for 12 months, and I would be extremely surprised if he doesn’t run a very positive race this year. The Japanese nine-year-old Curren Mirotic is the complete wildcard — wary of him despite poor recent form.
