Although Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have shared the Ballon d'Or between them for the last decade, Sergio Ramos does not think the idea of him winning the award is out of this world.
Ramos has spoken of his desire to be named the world's best previously, despite the last defender to win the award being Italy's World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro in 2006.
"Recently it has been a personal matter between Messi and Cristiano," Ramos told Italian magazine Undici.
"But Cannavaro, for example, won it and I do not see it as crazy for me to win it.
"If they give it to me, it will be a historical moment."
