ARNOLD DISMISSES ROOS RUMOURS

The Herald Sun reported on Wednesday that Postecoglou would quit the Socceroos even if Australia secured a place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
FFA released a statement on Wednesday which did not deny Postecoglou’s potential departure, but said the main focus was the final games against Honduras.
The Socceroos scraped through 2-1 against Syria in extra-time in Sydney on Tuesday.
The Sky Blues downed South Melbourne 5-1 away in the FFA Cup semi-final on Wednesday and Arnold denied any talks have taken place to take the helm.
“I haven’t thought about it to be honest. I’ve been focusing on this game and the Wellington game and I haven’t even thought about it,” Arnold said.
“I haven’t read or seen anything about where Ange has come out and said that so at the moment I think it’s innuendo unless Ange has come out (and confirmed it).”
Arnold also said he had full faith Postecoglou would take Australia to Russia 2018.
“They will qualify,” he said.
“I’m a true supporter of Ange, I think he’s done a fantastic job.
“I truly believe they will qualify. As a country, as journalists and as football supporters and we need to get behind them and support them the whole way because we need them to qualify for the good of the game.”
