Zac Clarke axed by Dockers as Tommy Sheridan, Brady Grey sign new deals

Zac Clarke’s career at Fremantle is over, with the ruckman confirming his de-listing on social media.
Clarke, Jon Griffin, Sam Collins and rookies Josh Deluca and Matthew Uebergang were all cut by the club this afternoon.
The news was better for Tommy Sheridan and Brady Grey, who have both agreed to one-year contract extensions with the club.
Clarke, who missed the entire season because of a knee problem, took to Instagram this afternoon issuing a farewell to teammates and a thank-you to friends and family.
The 27-year-old’s future had been the subject of speculation for years, with his exit foreshadowed by the rise of young Sean Darcy in Aaron Sandilands’ absence this season.
“Thanks to friends and family for the support over the journey and especially all my team mates (sic) who I’ll miss the most,” he said.
“One door closes, another one opens and I’m excited for what’s next #plentyleft.”
Clarke finishes on 101 games for Fremantle, including the 2013 grand final loss to Hawthorn.
Sheridan and Grey were both out of contract this offseason.
Dockers list manager Brad Lloyd said he was pleased to retain the young pair.
“We look forward to seeing Brady and Tommy playing in more important roles with our playing list and contributing to the senior team in the coming years,” he told the club’s website.
“Tommy had the opportunity from a young age to experience finals football for the club. We’re really pleased to see him sign on and he'll continue to develop as a player and play a role for our team.
“We’re also pleased with Brady’s extension. He’s really impressed us with his work ethic and his attack on the football. He’s developed consistently each year since arriving at the club.
"It's good that Brady’s been able to play some senior football in recent years and we look forward to seeing him build on that senior experience.”
