This squad contains the state’s most promising players, with eight of last year’s participants going on to make their Queensland debuts.
Maroons coach Kevin Walters said he was excited to have Ponga in the group.
“He is a player of the future so it is good news for Maroons fans that he has confirmed his allegiance with us.”
Ponga added, “This has been a decision I have taken my time with, but with my mind made up I’m excited to take part in the Emerging Maroons camp.
“I’m proud of my Kiwi heritage, but my ambition is to play for Queensland in State of Origin.”
Ponga and Moga will assemble for the camp in late January on the Gold Coast.
