REAL MADRID boss Zinedine Zidane has admitted that his job is hanging by a thread.
The Frenchman suffered the most embarrassing defeat of his managerial career as Real Madrid were dumped out of the Copa del Rey last night.
Los Blancos threw away a 1-0 first-leg win by losing 2-1 to Leganes at the Bernabeu - exiting the competition on goal difference.
And Zidane acknowledged that he faces the chop if he does not succeed in the Champions League.
Real are out of the La Liga title race as they trail Barcelona by 19 points, so their only hope of silverware hinges on the European tournament.
However, Neymar's Paris Saint-Germain are their opponents in the last 16 and progression is now more important than ever.
"If we do not get past against the PSG, my continuity is in danger," Zidane said.
"I am responsible.
"It is very clear that I am responsible and I have to find solutions."
Zidane was also furious with how his side started against Leganes which led to their shock defeat.
"After the victory in Leganes, at home you can not start like this," Zidane added.
"I make a team and in the end I was wrong in many things. It is very hard.
"I am angry. We have to see how we are going to solve it. Nobody expected it."
