West Coast Eagles, Fremantle Dockers fixtures revealed for round 23

West Coast’s pursuit of a top-two spot could come right down to the final day of the home-and-away season following the release of the round 23 fixture.
The Eagles take on Brisbane at the Gabba in their final qualifying match, to be played in the early Sunday timeslot.
Bouncedown is scheduled for 1.10pm in Queensland – or 11.10am Perth time – on August 26.
West Coast are currently in a fight to hang onto their place in the top four and secure a finals double chance.
But they have their sights firmly set on a top-two spot, which would guarantee two home finals.
It would lay the perfect platform for the Eagles advance directly to the grand final without having to leave Perth during the first three weeks of September.
Fremantle will not play in September this season but could help shape the top eight when they host finals-bound Collingwood at Optus Stadium.
The match will be played in the traditional Saturday afternoon timeslot – 2.35pm bouncedown – on August 25.
It could double as a farewell for retiring veterans Michael Johnson and Danyle Pearce, who Ross Lyon said could receive send-off matches late in the season.
The rest of round 23 features several marquee match-ups that could decide finals places.
Port Adelaide host Essendon on the Friday night (August 24), with Sydney and Hawthorn set to do battle at the SCG the following night.
Melbourne face Greater Western Sydney in what shapes as a crunch clash on the Sunday.
