Dockers linked to WA-born Richmond midfielder Reece Conca

Fremantle has been linked to WA-born Richmond midfielder Reece Conca as uncertainty grows over the future of prolific on-baller Lachie Neale.
According to AFL.com.au, the Dockers have tabled a multi-year deal and the promise of a starting midfield spot to Conca, who remains uncontracted for next year despite reportedly opening talks with the Tigers mid-season.
Neale has yet to commit his future to Fremantle beyond 2019, with Brisbane growing increasingly confident they can secure the star South Australian in this year’s trade period.
Drafted with pick six in the 2010 national draft, Conca has managed 103 games in eight seasons and just 32 since the start of 2015.
Injury prone and low in the Tigers’ midfield pecking order, the 26-year-old contemplated returning home at the end of 2016 before eventually signing a two-year extension to stay at Punt Road.
Conca has enjoyed his most consistent season in years, with the only setback a gruesome dislocated ankle suffered against Sydney in round 15.
After missing out on Richmond’s 2017 flag, Conca will line up for the Tigers in Friday’s preliminary final with the prospect of becoming a premiership player squarely in the crosshairs.
If lured home, Conca will the seventh WA-born player Fremantle has brought onto its list from interstate.
The others are Nathan Wilson (GWS), Brandon Matera (Gold Coast), Cam McCarthy (GWS), Shane Kersten (Geelong), Joel Hamling (Western Bulldogs) and Harley Bennell (Gold Coast).
