Mitchell to challenge ban, Sims facing suspension

Roosters match-winner Latrell Mitchell will front the judiciary on Tuesday night to challenge a potential one-match suspension for a crusher tackle on Josh Dugan.
Dugan was laid low by contact from Mitchell early in the second half of the Roosters 21-12 win over Cronulla on Saturday night.
Mitchell was penalised for the tackle that left Dugan clutching at his neck, but was not placed on report.
The match review committee has charged Mitchell with a grade-one dangerous contact to the head/neck. He was set to miss one match if he submitted an early guilty plea and will receive the same punishment if he fails at the judiciary.
Mitchell escaped suspension for a cannon ball tackle on Parramatta's Clint Gutherson with an early guilty plea last week, however has 75 carry-over points from that charge.
The Roosters' win gives them a week off before facing the winner of next Saturday's semi-final between the Rabbitohs and the winner of Sunday's Broncos-Dragons clash.
Meanwhile Dragons-bound Broncos forward Korbin Sims is facing a three-match suspension for a dangerous throw charge from Sunday's elimination final between the two sides.
Sims was charged over a 32nd-minute tackle on St George Illawarra's Blake Lawrie, with the grade two dangerous throw to result in a two-match suspension if Sims pleads guilty or a possible three-match ban if he unsuccessfully defends the charge at the judiciary.
With the Broncos' season over, Sims is set to miss the early rounds of the 2019 Telstra Premiership season.
Roosters enforcer Dylan Napa still has one more week to serve of his suspension from a brutal hit on Brisbane hooker Andrew McCullough, and will only play again this year if the Roosters win through to the grand final.
Tongan international Siosiua Taukeiaho was forced off early in the win over Cronulla with an ankle issue.
Robinson was pessimistic about the big man's chances of returning for their grand final qualifier, with Taukeiaho sent for scans on Saturday night.
