Broncos kick off Seibold, Maguire, Walters, Demetriou interviews

Brisbane are set to complete the interview process to replace Wayne Bennett by the end of this week as the Broncos move decisively to make a call about their 2020 coach.
NRL.com understands that Kiwis coach Michael Maguire and South Sydney's Dally M coach of the year Anthony Seibold have already been interviewed with Maroons coach Kevin Walters to be put through his paces on Wednesday and Broncos assistant Jason Demetriou on Thursday.
The Broncos panel which will interview the prospective coaches will be headed by club director Darren Lockyer, CEO Paul White and chairman Karl Morris. The process will be overseen by a Broncos senior staff member.
All candidates have undergone psychometric testing by an independent company.
Demetriou received an endorsement earlier on Tuesday from Cowboys great Johnathan Thurston, who was coached by him in 2015 when he was assistant coach to Paul Green when the club won the premiership.
"I really enjoyed being coached by JD. He's got a great football brain and talks well to the players and knows how to get his point across as well," he said.
"He is very well liked at the club so if they [the Broncos] do give him the job no doubt he will do it justice."
Retired Broncos legend Sam Thaiday told NRL.com earlier this year that five-time premiership winner Walters was the man to take Brisbane forward.
"I'd love to see Kevvie coach here because culturally he understands what the Broncos are about and he knows the standards and structures that we have in place here," he said.
"Kevvie lived and breathed that culture for the years he played here and he will continue those standards."
