Levante 0 Barcelona 5: Lionel Messi masterclass inspires Barça to extend LaLiga lead

Lionel Messi hit a brilliant hat-trick and assisted two more goals as Barcelona thrashed Levante 5-0 in Valencia at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia.
The Argentinian magician set up Luis Suarez for the opener before putting Levante to the sword with a superb 17-minute hat-trick.
Barca lost this fixture 5-4 last season as they missed out on an unbeaten season in La Liga, but they made amends this time around with an emphatic victory.
Coach Ernesto Valverde opted for three at the back and after something of a slow start, Messi went on a remarkable run across the box before cutting back for Suarez to volley home the opener after 35 minutes.
Eight minutes later, the Argentine ran on to a Sergio Busquets pass and raced away to score with his right foot to put the Catalan giants two up before the interval.
Just two minutes after the break, Messi added a third when he picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box and swept home into the corner.
The 31-year-old completed his hat-trick on the hour, finishing off a fantastic team move after being teed up by Arturo Vidal.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner then assisted Gerard Pique for Barca's fifth with two minutes left to complete a comprehensive victory and send the Catalans three points clear of Sevilla and Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.
