New West Coast Eagles recruits get jumper numbers - but No.11 stays vacant

Jake Waterman will be aiming to channel the goalkicking success of Mark LeCras after inheriting the retired Eagle’s No.2 jumper for next season.
West Coast this afternoon revealed the jumper numbers for their new recruits ahead of the club’s premiership defence next season, as well as Waterman trading ‘up’ into a new guernsey.
Waterman has ditched the No.45 as he looks to step up into a permanent role in the Eagles’ forward set-up after booting 13 goals in 16 games in his debut season this year.
Ruck recruit Tom Hickey will take over the No.16 jumper vacated by Eric Mackenzie, while top draft pick Xavier O’Neill is set to wear John Worsfold’s famous No.24.
Fellow national and rookie draftees Luke Foley (29), Bailey Williams (32), Jarrod Cameron (39), Harry Edwards (42), Josh Smith (45), Patrick Bines (46) and Brodie Riach (47) all locked in their numbers, while Keegan Brooksby will wear No.40 when he is officially announced as a recruit tomorrow.
West Coast opted to keep Matt Priddis’ No.11 jumper vacant for another season following the Brownlow Medallist’s retirement two years ago.
