Richmond Tigers move early on new contract for Daniel Rioli

Richmond have begun talks to lock in premiership small forward Daniel Rioli on a new contract extension.
Multiple outlets are reporting the Tigers and Rioli’s management have opened talks on a new deal for what is understood to be up to three years.
The 21-year-old is one of a number of Tigers out of contract at the end of this season.
Rioli has racked up an impressive CV in his 55 games since being drafted at pick 15 in the 2015 national draft, kicking 51 goals and playing a key role in Richmond’s 2017 premiership run.
Retaining his services would also assist the club in the recruitment of Maurice Rioli Jnr, who becomes eligible for father-son selection in 2020.
The teenage son of the WA football legend is eligible to join both the Tigers and Fremantle under the rule.
The Dockers qualify on the back of Maurice Rioli’s 168 games for South Fremantle, however his son has already expressed a desire to play alongside his cousin at the Tigers.
