Sam Kerr announced as West Coast Eagles’ No.1 ticket holder

Sam Kerr is the West Coast Eagles’ No.1 ticket holder for 2019.
Kerr was officially given the honour at the club’s season launch at Crown Perth this afternoon.
The global soccer superstar and sister of 2006 West Coast premiership midfielder Daniel takes over from retired politician Julie Bishop.
“I used to be in the cheer squad when I was younger. I've been an Eagles fan my whole life so this is an absolute honour,” Kerr said.
“I haven't got to many games in recent years as a result of living overseas, but hopefully that changes this year.”
It has been a whirlwind week for the 25-year-old, who led the Matildas to glory in the inaugural Cup of Nations final against Argentina yesterday after taking over as captain in February.
Kerr also featured alongside the likes of Serena Williams and Simone Biles in Nike’s latest worldwide advertisement, which highlights the power of female athletes.
But things could’ve panned out differently for the prolific striker if a pathway into Australian Rules football was available during her junior years.
“If I had a bridge back then, I’d definitely be an AFLW player,” Kerr said.
“Maybe one year I’ll have a year with the West Coast Eagles. Maybe when I’m 35 or so.”
Kerr joins a prestigious list of No.1 ticket holders, including Dennis Lillee, Ernie Dingo, Daniel Ricciardo and The Hon. Julie Bishop, among others.
The announcement was made ahead of international women’s day on Friday.
