Liam Picken’s wife Annie Nolan posts touching Twitter tribute after Bulldog’s retirement

There were plenty of tributes around for Liam Picken after the Bulldog called time on his playing career - but few were as comprehensive as one from his wife.
Annie Nolan recapped her top 10 memorable moments from Picken’s 198 AFL games in a heartwarming Twitter thread.
The number one highlight was obvious - the 2016 premiership, a day that Picken kicked three goals to cap an outstanding September.
There were plenty of football hightlights but Nolan offered up a few offbeat moments as well, such as the day Picken wore his shorts backwards.
Picken, a hero of the Bulldogs’ 2016 finals campaign that culminated in their drought-breaking premiership, had his playing days cut short by concussion issues.
The 32-year-old had not played any football since his latest concussion in a pre-season game more than 12 months ago.
Picken joined the Bulldogs through their rookie list and originally made his name as a tagger, before Beveridge played him regularly in attack.
He kicked three goals in their grand final win over Sydney and was the Bulldogs' joint leading goalkicker the following season.
In announcing his retirement, Picken spoke of his disappointment that he could not keep playing, but great pride in his career and gratitude for the opportunity, as well as singling out his wife Annie for her support.
